Rich Mattes dfc2b94138 Fix build error causing failures with gcc6 
An ostream was being written to itself when logging an error message;
from context it looks like the error message should have been logging a
filename and writing the ostream to itself was an error.  This commit
adds a patch to fix the issue and allow the package to build under gcc6.
